Mr. Hafiz · Toronto

Apps for teachers and students, made by a teacher and a student.

I'm Mr. Hafiz, a high school teacher in Toronto and a master's student. This is where I put the apps and resources I make for teachers and students, all in one place.

  • Made by a working teacher and student
  • Doc Replay is free
  • Your students' work stays in your browser

Two so far. A few more on the way.

Built by a teacher and a student, for the people in the classroom.

Doc Replay

Watch how a student's Google Doc was written, from a blank page to the finished piece.

  • Play the writing back at up to 250 times speed. Long idle gaps are skipped.
  • See what was typed and what was pasted, and who wrote each passage and when.
  • Search for the moment a phrase first appeared, and save a PDF summary.

A paste doesn't prove a student copied something. Students often draft in another app first. Doc Replay is for starting a conversation, not settling one.

The Doc Replay viewer: a sample essay with typed and pasted text in different colours, a chart of how the document grew, and a list of writing sessions.

Itinerary

Everything that's due, and where to start.

  • Drop in your course outlines, and it finds the dates, the readings and the weekly classes.
  • One calm screen shows the one thing to start with.
  • A kind "I'm behind" screen for when things pile up.

The screens shown are a demo, with made-up courses and dates.

Coming next

A lot more is on the way.

The apps are the start. Guides and videos are coming for both sections.
